Paradiso

Paradiso is an iconic venue in Amsterdam and a beloved destination in the world of music, culture, and nightlife. It opened on March 30, 1968, as the Cosmic Relaxation Center Paradiso and is located in a former church. The large concert hall accommodates 1500 people, featuring high ceilings, 2 balcony tiers, and 3 impressive illuminated church windows above the stage. The small hall, with a capacity of 250 people, provides an intimate setting for special and often enchanting concerts.

Paradiso has built a reputation as a stage for emerging artists and new talent, but also many renowned bands and artists have performed there, including Pink Floyd, Canned Heat, Solution, C.C.C.Inc, Ian Dury, Undertones, Billy Idol, Herman Brood, Simple Minds, DAF, UB 40, Blondie, The Stranglers, Hawkwind, Thin Lizzy, JAPAN, Archie Shepp, and many others.

Throughout the year, Paradiso offers a diverse program of concerts, dance parties, and festivals, such as the famous London Calling festival. Situated on Weteringschans, near the bustling Leidseplein, Paradiso is a focal point of Amsterdam’s nightlife.
