The British Letter fanatic Martin Kaye (London 1932 – Amsterdam 1989) designed and screen-printed all posters for the Amsterdam pop stage Paradiso from 1972 to 1983. The workshop of Kaye was in the basement of Paradiso. He printed posters while artist were performing above his head such as Iggy Pop, The Police, Herman Brood, Blondie, John Cale, the Stranglers and many other musicians.
Typically were his own designed letters, cut by him in silkscreen stencil, bold and large. The use of the rainbow print was his trademark. All editions (1000+) of around 125 posters were distributed through Amsterdam by Martin Kaye himself.
